As part of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers, our local unions strongly support the U.S. Department of Labor's Drug-Free Workplace Alliance, which aims to improve worker safety and health in the construction industry through drug-free workplace programs.
Our members are required to abide by the drug and alcohol policies enforced on contractor worksites and we strongly encourage members to take an active role in working to assist drug-free workplace programs. These programs can include written policies, employee education, supervisor training, employee or member assistance programs (EAP/MAP) and drug-testing which all help in keeping a safe workplace for everyone.
International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers strongly encourages drug-testing program in alliance with our signatory contractors which further helps to support our total commitment to safety on the job.
The Professional Craftsman Code of Conduct addresses “working drug and alcohol free” employee education for the insulator workforce.
