General President Revard presents his goals on union-focused podcast

Newly appointed International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers General President Gregory T. Revard detailed his career thus far and shared his mission and goals as the new General President on the Oct. 2 episode of America’s Work Force Union Podcast.

General President Revard began by telling AWF Union Podcast host Ed “Flash” Ferenc about his time as a laborer before enlisting in the Navy.

After a short time, Revard would follow in his father's footsteps and take an opportunity from the Insulators Local 47 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Revard told the audience about troubles he faced as he was completing his apprenticeship with Local 47. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Revard began seeking leadership roles within the Local Union and at the International.

Following the Labor Day retirement of General President Emeritus James P. McCourt, Revard was elected by the General Executive Board to lead the union.

Later in the podcast, Revard laid out his goals and ambitions, most of which are focused on organizing new members and training the ones we have.

He said he would like to focus on organizing experienced Insulators. This will help the Insulators Union take on more market share and add some top-notch tradesmen and tradeswomen to their ranks. Additionally, this will raise the industry standard to the same level as the Insulators Union.

His next goal is to improve the quality of the education and training provided to Insulator Union apprentices and journeymen.
